Tony D'Ascanio
When asked to describe himself, without hesitation Tony states, “I am a family man and a builder.”
As the eldest child of Italian immigrants, Tony had double duty serving in the family’s concrete business as well as looking after his two little brothers Franco and Amedeo.
The first generation of US born D’Ascanio kids lived in a one room building on the beach in Grassy Key, now the site of Rainbow Bend Resort and the Hideaway Cafe. Tony learned early that hard work was what made a man as his parents worked unwaveringly to provide for their family. Through their actions Tony also learned the valuable life lessons of family, integrity and laughter.
A product of the Keys, Tony’s early education came from the public school system. He spent his days learning as all children do and his afternoons hard at work in his parents cement business. From mixing to creating molds a spark soon started for young Tony. He found real satisfaction in arriving at a finished product.
In 1979 Tony secured his Associate Degree in Architectural Design and Construction Management at Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida. Shortly after, Tony earned his Florida General Contractor License. Since then he has been building and remodeling homes throughout the Florida Keys.
In 1991 Tony brought his brothers in on a new idea. Because their professional endeavors so complimented his, the boys decided to form D’Asign Source, a one stop shop for home design/build services.
Today D’Asign Source has earned a reputation for delivering the very best in craftsmanship and customer service at a great value. While an impressive display of awards for custom homebuilding projects greets you as you enter the D’Asign Source headquarters in Marathon—Tony’s joy still comes from seeing a project completed.
Tony is married to Darlene and has four daughters: Lisa, Katrina, Felicia and Tonya. Like dad, the girls are all conchs… born in the Keys and proud of it!
